I wanted to show some pictures of Minneapolis to try and give some sort of sense of the beautiful way that this city is designed and the preservation of and practical use of lots of public space that makes living in the city very agreeable.
FISA Coverage
July 9, 2008As much as the MSM continues to assert their significance on the tough stories, and it is true that the MSM breaks stories, but I do have a sense that they do not seem to stay on top of stories the way that some people in the blogosphere do. One example might be my long-time friend Julian Sanchez’s coverage of the “compromise” FISA Bill. Julian still has the bit between his teeth against all apologists for the bill, most recently, Lanny Davis. Yes, responding to the opinions of others is not the same as Woodward/Bernstein-type investigative journalism, but the FISA Bill is still something that ought to be part of the public consciousness, and it is this part of the role of the media that I think many people feel is being neglected more and more as something the MSM feels responsible for. No matter what the meta-story of media coverage may be, keep goin’ at ‘em, Julian!
