The Emmylou Harris of Democratic Theory?

Two new collaborative projects have been accepted for publication this week.  Both are collaborative efforts.  I am grateful for both and thrilled to be working with such fantastic co-conspirators, but I’m beginning to worry if people are going to worry that I cannot write a solo album.  The truth is, I enjoy collaborating far more than working by myself.  That part of me, I suppose, doesn’t really care very much about such questions.

Blindness

I have not yet read Blindness by Jose Saramango, nor have I seen the film.  But I am pretty sure that the protest I read about in The New York Times about the depiction of the blind misses the point of the stories imagery.  I would like to read the book (all the talk of Nobel Laureates, I suppose).  Who’s read it?  Without giving anything away, is it any good?
